Her newfound freedom feels anything but. Stuck in low-paying jobs, Harper wants nothing more than to go home to her family. The 
last time she called, though, her father made it clear he wanted nothing to do with her. She won't reach out to her parents until she's achieved something they can be proud of. At the rate she's going, she'll never see them again.

Looking up at daylight from the bottom of a deep pit is a hard place to be. But God loves to rescue His children. Psalm 40:2 reads,
“He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.”
Beauty in Flight is about a woman whose feet are stuck in the miry clay. She's going to learn about the God who can rescue her.
I don't know where the idea for Beauty in Flight came from. Like most of my stories, this one started with an image. There was a beautiful woman in prison–and that's all I knew about the story. But the theme–I know exactly where it came from.
Harper's is the story of a woman who's made a mountain of bad choices. She is filled with regret and fights hopelessness as she considers how she's squandered the gifts and talents she was given. Throughout the course of the three books, Harper learns to hope in Christ and to believe in His grace and mercy.
At its core, Beauty in Flight is about a woman learning who she truly is, not in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of the God who created her and died for her and adopted her into His family.
It's about a woman who has to choose to either believe what seems right or believe what the Bible says about her, despite all the evidence stacked up against her.
Oh, it's also about a woman who will risk everything to protect an old man she's come to love. And it's about a woman who, in the midst of the most terrifying events of her life, meets a man who just might be different from those of her past.
